MOA 2019 ELECTION PRESS RELEASE.

MOA 2019 ELECTION PRESS RELEASE.

Saturday 25th April, 2019.

MOA election is a crucial part of our crave for excellence in contributing to the development of our immediate community, Mushin and Odi olowo.

Ordinarily, elections all over the world are held to confer legitimacy on administrators of certain institutions and societies. It gives the rulers or administration the prerequisite power and authority to manage the affairs of their colleagues and members.

Last year, MOA held its inaugural election and the tenure lapse earlier this year but probably due to the exigencies of the time, elections couldn’t take place on schedule.

This constitutional breach created a lacuna and anxieties among members.

Following from the above, the plenary met and inaugurated two committees, constitution amended committee to take care of new exigencies and lacuna observed by members and electoral committee was also created to conduct free and fair elections that will usher in fresh executives with fresh ideas to reposition the organization.

On Friday, guidelines were issued, forms were collected by interested members and ultimately elections were held.

However, a new development cropped up, a certain candidate, Ishola Abiola obtained form but NOT on ground to vote for himself in the election that he was a candidate.

This almost throw spanner in the work of the committee as it was never envisaged.

To be on the safer side, the committee withhold the announcement of Mr. Ishola as winner of the post of Deputy Coordinator despite the fact that he secured required votes.

Having looked into the guidelines of the elections, and widespread consultations were made, the committee came to the conclusion that the election of Mr Ishola Abiola should be upheld.

Following from the above, the electoral committee hereby announce Mr Ishola Abiola as the substantive Deputy Coordinator of MOA.

Finally, the committee wishes to express its appreciation to the constitution amended committee, and entire members of MOA for their perseverance and commitment to MOA.

Thank you
Chief Press Secretary
Comrade.Olakunle Muritala.
